Acceptable Behavior - Behavioral Expectations
Participants in any school-sponsored trip are representatives of the International School of Prague. ISP students represent our entire community of students, faculty, parents, administrators and alumni. The following regulations must be followed by students participating in all events (whether athletic, academic, cultural etc.). Positive interaction among students, faculty, guides, and local people is a hallmark of all Week Without Walls trips. It is unacceptable for students to inconvenience others, or jeopardise the safety of the group. Students must satisfy the sponsors that they have the background to enjoy the course and that they will be supportive of the group for the duration of the course. Students are expected to study the trip schedule and ensure they have the physical ability to participate in ALL activities.
All the ISP school rules are in effect for the duration of the course:
1) Students shall obey all instructions given to them by their teacher, chaperone or guide as if their own parents gave these instructions to them.
2) Possession or use of tobacco, alcohol and drugs are not permitted. Students may not go to bars or nightclubs.
3) Housing arrangements may not be changed.
4) Student curfew is 22:00 unless otherwise specified by a chaperone. Students must be in their assigned room at this time.
5) Exploration of the local community may be done, with the permission of a chaperone, provided students are in pairs or groups.
6) Students must display appropriate and respectful behavior at all times. YOU REPRESENT THE ISP COMMUNITY WHILE YOU ARE ON THIS TRIP.
7) All ISP rules and regulations shall be in effect from the time of departure to the time of return.
8) Students Must become familiar with their trip/event itinerary.
9) Students Must obtain parent approval for any trip/event they participate in.
10) Students Must attend ALL orientations and meetings.
11) Students Must complete all registration requirements.
12) Students Must ensure that parents have ALL the information given.
13) Students Must agree to all pre and post-course work associated with the trip/event.
14) Students Must adhere to all behavior expectations as identified.
15) Students Must cooperate equally with all members of their group.
Flagrant curfew violations or going to “off limits” areas will not be tolerated and all laws of the local country must be obeyed. Advisors in consultation with the administration, have full authority to send home a student whose conduct is unacceptable or compromises the safety of the group. If it is necessary to send a student home, it will be at the parent’s expense.
Statement of Disciplinary Action - the following are examples of disciplinary action which may be taken in the event that the Code of Conduct or school policies are not followed:
