Frequently Asked Questions
When is WWW happening and is it mandatory?
Week Without Walls will encompass the academic school week of September 2-6,2019 (length of some trips may be different). Week Without Walls is not a week without school...we are simply moving the educational opportunities outside the traditional confines of the classroom. The week is considered an integral part of our curriculum and continued pursuit of life-long learning, and therefore all students are expected to participate.
How do we sign up for the program?
Sign-ups will be via an emailed link or accessible through WWW website. The sign up dates for "Week Without Walls" will be between April 30th - May 7th.
How will students be assigned to different programs?
We will try our best to give students their number one choice, however, this is unfortunately not always possible. Criteria for placing students in programs are for example gender and age balance, and grade level of the student.
Can I sign up for the same program as last year?
No, students will not be allowed to go on a same trip twice as we want them to experience various kind of activities during their studies.
What if I would like to change the trip?
In any case, please contact Ms. Malinova ([email protected]) ASAP. If a trip change is requested after bookings have been made, the family will need to carry all the costs that cannot be recovered.
When do we need to pay for the trip?
Invoices will be sent to families at the beginning of June 2019. The payment will be due in two weeks from receipt of the invoice.
Who supervises the WWW programs?
All specialized trips are run by trained and/or certified service providers who will be accompanied by at least two ISP teacher - chaperone.
Do I need to purchase medical insurance for my child?
The international trips include medical insurance and have 24/7 ground support throughout the duration of the trip. You are welcome to purchase your own in addition, but there is insurance built into the pricing already. For local trips, your local health insurance will generally cover any unforeseen illness or accident, but again, you are welcome to purchase additional insurance as you see fit.
Does my child require a Visa to travel and how do we get that Visa?
Because we have students from over 70 different nationalities with varying degrees of travel freedom, we ask that all families look into the necessary visa requirements for their excursion destination of choice. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR EMBASSY. The fees associated with Visa procurement are not covered by the trip fees. Visas need to be acquired BEFORE travel, even if they are available at the airport upon arrival. We cannot afford to have anything go wrong at the destination country that forces us to return and jeopardize the student - chaperone ratios.
What if my passport has expired or is expiring soon after travel?
PLEASE CHECK YOU PASSPORT EXPIRY DATE. As a general travel standard, it is recommended that your child's passport should be valid for at least 6 months after return date of the trip but the exact remaining validity depends on each country. Please consult embassy of the country you are going to visit.
